By Day: Lydia Murphy is our Accounting Specialist, here at the Norcom Avon office. Her days are always changing because she deals with a little bit of everything including, working with 28 different Norcom branches. She is constantly dealing with invoices, checking accounts, payroll requests, fee sheets and any last minute things that may come up. She is constantly staying busy because she works closely with everyone in the office. Since she is a people person, she loves the relationships she has with everyone here at Norcom. She especially loves when the whole company gets together, so she can get to know everyone a little bit better.

By Night: When Lydia is not working at Norcom, she is a dedicated mother to her 3 young children, Brennan, Elena, and Adam. After work, she helps her children with their homework, prepares dinner with the help of her daughter, who loves to cook, and then gets her children ready for bed. Her two youngest children play basketball for Avon, so she squeezes that into her schedule as well. Her free time consists of household chores, visiting her family, and relaxing while watching her children play together. For fun, Lydia enjoys going to sporting events, going out to eat, going to comedy clubs, and having day trips with her kids. Lydia says the reason she is such a great mom is because of her own mother. Her mother is the most important person in her life, because she taught her everything she knows and is still teaching her. Most people don’t know that Lydia was actually born in Montes la Jolie, France and came to America when she was five months old. Her first language was Bosnian, but she forgot most of the language when she started school. Lydia has also lived in Istanbul, Turkey for a year, and her real name is Ilirije. Her first grade teacher could not pronounce her real name, so she called her Lydia, and it stuck with her ever since.

By Day: Krysia is a Receptionist and Final Document Specialist here at the Norcom Avon office. She has many different tasks that she does throughout the day, but one of the first things she does is collect the packages that UPS, FedEx, and USPS drop off. Krysia spends a lot of time scanning and filing finalized documents that we are constantly receiving. She also does a lot of customer service for Norcom, answering phones and making sure customers are directed to the appropriate departments. When she is not doing one of these tasks, she works closely with the Post Closing Department. Krysia says that she enjoys working for Norcom because she absolutely loves working with everyone here, it’s like a big family and since she is a people person, she loves being able to interact with everyone here, and everyone that visits Norcom.

By Night: After a long day of work, Krysia enjoys going home, getting into her comfortable clothes and relaxing while watching her favorite T.V. shows on Bravo. Krysia is pretty crafty, so in her spare, time she takes pictures of her friends and family, then creates scrapbooks with the photos. Krysia also loves to do hair and makeup in her free time. For fun, she loves to spend time with her close group of friends, and together they go out and have fun. When we asked Krysia who the most important person in her life was, she said there are three, her mom, dad, and little sister. Her parents have always supported her, and her little sister is like her mini best friend, even though they are 13 years apart in age. Something that most people don’t know about Krysia is that she bakes, designs, and decorates cakes. Her friends joke around and call her cake boss, but it was because of one of her friends that she started creating these cakes in the first place. Her friend needed a fancy cake so Krysia taught herself to make these cakes by watching videos online. Krysia’s cakes look amazing and taste even better!

By Day: At the Avon office, Bill is a Compliance Analyst and is responsible for Norcom Mortgage’s Lender, Branch, and Loan originators licensing.  This includes twenty-three company specific lender licenses, fifty-five branch licenses, and 249 individual state specific mortgage loan origination licenses. During any down time at the office, Bill works on smaller various licensing administrative tasks and assists with some compliance projects.  When he was asked, “What do you enjoy most about working for Norcom?” he said he enjoys the “family type of work atmosphere and the companies continued expansion initiatives”. Bill has been a part of the Norcom team for two years and two months and continues to be a valuable employee.

By Night: After the workday is over, Bill checks in with the most important person in his life, his wife, to make sure he has no other priorities before heading home. At home, his two adopted children, and often times his ex-foster daughter wait for his return so they can plan events for the rest of the night. Together they enjoy watching sports, swimming in their swimming pool, or attending local fairs and events. When they can, they try to escape to their timeshares in Cape Cod and Newport, Rhode Island, where they watch the boats and relax on the beach. Something that most people do not know about Bill is that he was born during the Vietnam War at the US Army Hospital in Landstuhl, while his father served in the US Army.

By Day: Stephanie is an underwriter here in the Avon office working on conventional, government and USDA loans for both Retail and Wholesale channels. Day to day tasks include analyzing loan documentations for accuracy and completeness, and approving loans in accordance with corporate policies and investor guidelines. Stephanie also works closely with processors, loan officers, AEs and brokers to provide support for questions and issues that might arise throughout the loan process. It can be hectic at times, but the satisfaction she gets in helping people become homeowners is what she loves most about the job.

By Night: Stephanie is busy at home most nights spending time with her husband, Patrick and raising their 18-month-old son, Preston.  Sometimes on the weekends, you will find her helping out at her family’s Chinese restaurant, Golden Wok, in Waterbury, CT. When she’s not running around chasing after her son and baby proofing the house, she enjoys photography and playing tennis. Stephanie also has a love for travel and adventure. She and her husband have travelled to quite a few places around the world from South Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, and Europe, to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii.  Recently, they took Preston on his first cruise to Bermuda and think perhaps the next vacation spot will be Disney World. :)
